After hours of work pulling the head apart, rewiring (replacing the oxidized and crumbling main power cable), and sanding down the collars so I could slide the bracket onto the shaft, it broke during the first use. The lever piece shown with a red arrow is supposed to lift the piece with the blue arrow in order to adjust the tilt of the motor. The retainer piece cracked and the blue piece slipped through the during the first attempted use lowering the motor into the water. No excessive force was applied. Frustrating.
