I have many many times told people about this show "Afterlife" not the Gervais thing but this show with the fantastic Leslie Sharp. Yet, still no one watches it because even though you can purchase it digitally at long last people are hesitant to spend on things the don't already know.This show is for you if you like good stories with an element of weird and creepy, as well as stories that question our very existence in a supernatural way- not in a gory- it could never happen this way- with people who are too beautiful and stupid to have survived in the first place like that show "Medium.""Medium" as a show is an excellent idea delivered astoundingly badly. People compare the two shows but really that's like comparing watching a car commercial to the experience of driving your first brand new actual car into your driveway. This series came out the same year as the American show "Medium" and was superior in every way but only got two seasons whereas sucky "Medium" got seven seasons. Alas.This series is more about a real medium- and all the torture and emotion that it would inflict on the person being able to see what the main character sees- as well as extremely great episode stories with a wonderful overarching narrative for the series that when you watch it again and again you appreciate more each time.Do you question why some people have an experience, and it can't be completely explained away then you definitely are missing out if you haven't watched this show.Season 2 has my favorite episodes but the whole thing is a small screen masterpiece. Welsh writer Stephen Volk- the writer for most of the series should consider this his crowning achievement- and that's saying something considering he wrote "Gothic"The music is absolutely beautiful and used like an old school Hitchcock-like vibe along with tension building camera angles and POV to get you sucked into the story and feel what the characters feel. You can tell the creator must have been influenced by old Alfred and in this case it's a wonderful rare gem in a field of shabby dirty rocks rather than the usual self indulgence of Hitchcock worshiping writers/directors.
