The gasket/rubber ring has fallen out after only opening/closing this twice. For my application I do not need a watertight seal, but given it's typical application, this essentially makes it no longer water tight. It also means it is easier to open through vibration, because the rubber ring acts as an anti vibration seal with only hand tightness. Now, without the rubber ring in place, I'm sure it will work itself loose unless I really crank it down hard. Which of course makes it more difficult to open by hand.I really like the design of the finger slots. This is the best design for opening by hand that I've seen. This is why I chose this item over others. Other companies form smaller slots where you can only grab it with one or two fingers. This item's design allows for multiple fingers to assist with opening/closing.
