In the beginning I did not think I could watch the whole movie because of the gore and guts that grossed me out. What begged me to stay was the story line and the acting. It was heartwarming to see the positive relationship between the mother and daughter and also the great friendships that developed. The mother did not seem like the type of person that could be capable of harming anyone. That piece did not fit until the mother has a psychotic snap at the end. Her weakness was anyone who would harm her daughter. The movie had a fun way of bringing Hindu culture into modern life and questioning it as well. Perhaps questioning tradition and arranged marriage the way Fiddler on the roof examined tradition. Perhaps it is best to take the best parts of tradition and let a few things go along the way. I really enjoyed the blossoming of the female lead. She became gorgeous as the movie progressed. It was a happy ending and all things were brought to a peaceful conclusion.
