Was working great until one of the straps ripped off, now I only have oneGot these in November for our SUV for a 8ft Foam board that our son got for his Birthday. Tested out install in December with no beach trip in sight, just so I would know how to do it...fast forward to late March...I totally forgot how to install and directions and YouTube didn’t help. I spent an hour trying to get two straps through a single buckle because I am a complete moron...but I took everything off, took a deep breath, sent the family inside...and promptly installed everything in less than 5 minutes.Drove an hour + to the beach, on the freeway between 60-75mph and no whistling, no strap flapping or loosening. Coming back, same speeds, everything stayed tight and the board moved a couple inches in travel but that could have been because the board was sandy.These were a great buy and I highly recommend for the occasional surfer who wants an inexpensive way to get their board to and from the beach!If I were using this to drive a short distance to the beach at slower speeds it would be easier to trust its fastenings. It didn't come as advertised but it did attach tightly but there wasn't any way to deal with the excess strap except to sheep shank it out of the way. It does pass through the door jam and at high speed and for long periods of time I am sure it would wear the paint on the car. It made some noise but tolerable. I used it on a Kia Sorento and due to the low profile of the rack and the placement of the shark fin antenna on the car I had to move the board further forward than I liked. I will get a proper rack for future surf trips.A lot of the reviews here seem to be giving reviews on the values of personal expectations instead of the value of the item costs, it does it’s job, if anyone wants something better then go ahead and spend a few hundred dollars and get something permanent, does the job for the price just fineUnfortunately I didn’t use this until recently but the product does not look like the one that was promoted. Straps were different and very hard to adjust. I would not recommend thisExcellent product, i have a Chevy Equinox leased throgh my job so i can not add a real roof rack so have went through several “soft” options for my field and stream 12’ Kayak and they all were terrible, either wouldnt secure properly or made horrible unbearable noise. This rack worked great on recent 500 mile round trip vacation , easy to install and strap, made no noise and didnt budge an inch the entire trip either way. Highly recommend. watch the install video if youve never used this type of rack, its simple. If no video on Amazon check you tube.I have to say these are so much better than the pool noodles I was using! So easy to use and made well. I’m able to do them alone quick and easy.Transport de kayak
