Even though I definitely was spellbound by this incredibly twisty book, it was like a crazy paranormal soap opera on steroids.?‍? Not only that, this book drags,and drags, and draaaaggs!???? Ok so, Kiera whose original name is actually Catherine Kerian Johnson. When she was 7 years old, she got lost at a carnival ? when she met a gypsy, the gypsy saw Kiera’s magic and did something really funky to her hands causing her to suddenly be able to see demons in people and she called her the chosen one.So she is tortured by nightmares and seeing these demons everywhere, and her parents nearly have her committed to a mental hospital until her sister, Libby tells her to lie about her seeing demons and to sketch ✍️ them in a sketchbook to maybe trap ? the demons ??and it works for a while.But then Kiera gets stalked and kidnapped by her nutso, stalker, psychopath, college professor from her college for an entire month who tortures her, convinced she is his sister Catherine whom he was in love with, freakin gross???who is actually dead, since he murdered her. And her name is Catherine also, and Mr. Cray Cray is convinced Kiera is his dead sister lol.???After all of this nonsense, she renames herself Keira and moves away from England to live with her sister Libby and Frank, Libby’s husband. Because she has been trying her best to run from this craziness. One day she walks into the woods to explore, and comes upon a Garden of Eden replica who is actually created by Sophia, the sister of Kiera’s love interest, and fated mate, “Draven” (which is his last name who Kiera seems to be obsessed with calling him, instead of his actual first name, Dominic???‍♀️)I’m like, mmmkay, wtf are you calling him by his last name you dimwit????so then she meets him there, and ofcourse “Draven” never tells her directly who he is nor explains their future together, only gives her cryptic words and appears to her via dreams. After explaining all of this, I’m not even done with all the excessive drama and theatrics, and I’m already exhausted.??At this point, I don’t have the patience to read the other ELEVEN BOOKS??I’m like damn lol this character is too stupid to breathe.??? oh and then there’s “Draven” ?omg he is just too much with his treatment of Kiera on lying to her and breaking her heart with his lies.??‍♀️I mean, you would think he would be mature and wise since he’s a part angel/demon king right who’s probably been alive for like a thousand years??But nope, his theatrics are so high schooler. I’ll need a freakin therapist if I read anymore of these books.???? I mean, if you have the patience to go through these 12 BOOKS, have at it lol bcz Stephanie is definitely a great author ✍️ and I love the world building she does even though I kinda hated all of the multitudes of pages and pages of Kiera’s mental monologue lol????so I’m out ?? bcz this is just too much.?? I’ll be moving on to a new, way less dramatic, and definitely less horrorish, type of paranormal book ??
