These were purchased for under $50 through Amazon Warehouse. They arrived in like new condition. I contacted the manufacturer with a question and received an immediate reply! Super helpful and very customer focused.The racks themselves installed easily on aftermarket oblong shaped racks on 2017 Nissan Murano. They are very high quality, super easy to adjust or fold down and very sturdy. Carried 2 kayaks approximately 400 miles with zero issues. Excellent product!!The carrier was pretty easy to install on the vehicle and it will hold both of our kayaks, or 1 canoe. The only complaint I have is that it has developed a "whistling " sound when driving highway speeds. Perhaps I need to realign it a little bit.These appear sturdy and well made. I wish it would be easier to put on and take off the rack. It took me about 10 minutes to install one J hook. The number one thing I dislike about them is the hook design they have for supposedly keeping the straps in place. It doesn't work at all and is actually a hindrance. What they should do is redesign it so that it an eye let that you thread the stap thru to keep it in place. I improvised after watching a video where the guy used zip ties. Make a loop with one,then two others to zip that loop to the hook. I thread my straps thru the improvised eye let and this keep my straps from slipping. I don't use ratchet straps that came with it. I bought rubber padded cam straps that are quicker and won't scratch your vehicle up.Initial fitting to a 2018. Rav4 flat crossbar proved challenging. The lower plate barely makes contact with the edges of the cross bar, therefore just barely allows for a secure fit. Flattening of the lower plate slightly helps make a better fit. Other reviews shared a similar issue.Like the racks, and fact that they fold flat. Carriage bolts too short.one of them crossthreaded on bolt. Had to saw off. Ended up replacing bolts. Cheap rubber gaskets tore easily so had to replace. Works fine now.As advertised, but 2 of them cracked after limited use during normal hauling. Tubing construction is lightweight, significantly behind major manufactures. Would not recommend.We used here on our minivan to transport our 2 sit on top kayaks.Come with all the necessary items to tie down a kayak which is awesome.This summer we used them about 5 times. Overall the fold down feature is needed for us as they would hit the garage door if we don’t fold them down. However folding these down does take some effort and a quick lock side would help reduce time if you are going to have to do this after every usage as we do.
